Terms of Service

Effective May 11, 2026

Claude Recall is licensed as a perpetual, personal-use tool. Read these terms carefully—they explain your rights and our obligations under the license agreement you accepted at purchase.

License Grant

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to use Claude Recall Pro on up to three devices that you own or control. This license is perpetual (it does not expire) and one-time (you pay once). The license is for personal, non-commercial use only.

For the free tier, you may use Claude Recall at no cost and without activation, subject to the same non-commercial restriction.

License Scope & Restrictions

You may not:

We track activations per license key (max 3 concurrent devices). Abuse of this limit (e.g., sharing keys across a team) will result in key disablement without refund.

The Dead-Man Clause

Your Pro license validates once at activation. After that, Claude Recall works completely offline. If clauderecall.com disappears, your license remains valid forever. We commit to publishing the license validation secret if we ever shut down, so you will never be stranded without access to your own data.

Local Data Ownership

All your session data, notes, tags, and conversations are stored entirely on your machine in ~/.recall/. You own this data completely. We have no access to it, cannot delete it, and cannot revoke your access to it. This is the entire point of the product.

Refunds

Full refunds are available within 60 days of purchase, no questions asked. See our Refund Policy for details.

No Warranty

The software is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that Claude Recall will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that your data will never be lost (though we build in redundancy across three durability layers: SQLite, history columns, and disk mirrors).

You are responsible for backing up your data. The ~/.recall/ directory is yours to copy or export at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to Claude Recall shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license ($49.69).

This limitation applies even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Termination

Your license is perpetual and cannot be revoked except in cases of license key abuse (e.g., unauthorized sharing across multiple users or commercial use). If we revoke your key, you may request a refund.

If you delete your local ~/.recall/ directory, you lose access to your indexed sessions. This is your responsibility—we cannot recover data you have deleted.

Intellectual Property

"Claude Recall" and the Claude Recall logo are trademarks of Claude Recall HQ. Your license does not grant you any rights to these trademarks. You may not use them in connection with your own products or services without written permission.

Claude Recall is built on Claude Code, Anthropic's product. We respect Anthropic's intellectual property rights. Your use of Claude Recall is subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service for Claude Code.

Privacy & Data

See our Privacy Policy for details on what data we collect and how we handle it.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nevada, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Clark County, Nevada.

Amendments

If we update these Terms, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. Material changes that affect your rights will be communicated to Pro users by email before they take effect.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed, and the remaining Terms will continue in full force and effect.
